| In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Games will feature music of the region in Grove 3 and at special music tents positioned near the entry gates.
Grove 3, hosted by balladeer Colin Grant Adams, will highlight music of Appalachia that has grown out of Celtic roots to become Old Time & Bluegrass. It will feature regional talent such as Celtic Connections, who has performed on a national level at events like Merlefest and include instruments such as mandolin, banjo, hammer dulcimer, guitar, upright bass & fiddle, just to name a few. Also, the Forget Me Nots are only in their teens but have several years experience and will delight the crowds with their brand of Celtic fiddle music. This year will feature something special for folks as they arrive at the Games. A tent located near the entry gate will feature hammer dulcimer player, Marcille Wallis, with another example of Appalachian/Celtic ties. Marcille is a marvelous musician with a wealth of knowledge about this wonderful instrument. Be sure to stop by to listen and talk to this talented performer. |
